Scope of Activity: | The Association for Production, Storage and Trading of Electricity (APSTE) is a non-profit organization that supports the development and market integration of renewable energy technologies, electricity trading and energy storage technologies. The association's mission is to create a favorable regulatory environment and business climate in Bulgaria for the transition to sustainable, carbon-neutral energy. The broad profile of our membership base, which includes business representatives of manufacturers, designers and integrators of renewable energy technologies and energy storage systems, electricity traders and investors in the sector, enables us to have an active position, opinion and initiatives on various aspects of the business climate for the development of RES projects as well as energy storage projects. The activities of the association toward its mission are diverse: conducting an active dialogue with legislative and regulatory bodies and providing opinions and positions on amendments in the key legislation for the sector; APSTE is the only renewable energy association that was part of the Green Deal Advisory Council established to the Government; organizing the training “Best EPC Practices for PV installations”, together with the Faculty of Economics of Sofia University; preparing a report and a white paper about energy storage in Bulgaria; translating into Bulgarian RES guidelines and publications and organising webinars on topical issues. Since mid-2021, APSTE has been a partner of the RE-Source platform, the leading European forum for corporate sourcing of renewable energy. As a co-founder of the regional RE-Source Southeast HUB, the association annually organises RE-Source Southeast - the largest corporate renewable energy sourcing event in the region. The conference contributes to sharing best practices, opportunities and challenges for corporate power purchase agreements (PPAs), business strategies for decarbonisation and the dynamic energy market at regional and pan-European level. The event also provides a unique opportunity to meet and network with industry leading companies, high level experts and future partners from the region and Europe.
